The Next Chapter
I’ve spent the last several years building a system designed to identify opportunity before it becomes obvious. Now I’m ready to show you what’s underneath the hood.
As many of you know, I recently returned to the corporate world after a long journey away. I’m grateful to be back in an industry where I’ve spent more than two decades using data, analytics and strategy to identify patterns and uncover opportunities.
That same mindset is what led me to build RAV80.
Over the past several years, I’ve spent thousands of hours studying market structure, options, volume, momentum and technical behavior—and building custom scanners designed to identify stocks approaching conditions where meaningful price expansion may be developing.
The question behind all of it is the same one I’ve asked throughout my career:
What is the data trying to tell us?
RAV80 is my attempt to answer that question in the financial markets—and to share not simply what I’m seeing, but why I’m seeing it.
Let me show you what that looks like.
Identifying the Opportunity Before the Move.
One of the most important things I’ve built into RAV80 is a series of scanners designed to identify stocks approaching conditions where significant price expansion may be possible.
AAOI was one of them.
The stock appeared on my scanner as it approached higher-timeframe demand—specifically, monthly demand, one of the highest timeframes I monitor.
The weekend before the setup triggered, I was at a family gathering talking about AAOI and why I believed it was worth keeping on the radar. I had already placed an alert near the monthly demand zone.
On July 29, that alert triggered around $76.
Over the following 19 days, AAOI advanced approximately 111%, moving from the area I had identified to more than $160 at its peak.
The Result
- Alert
- July 29
- Area Identified
- ~$76
- Peak Move Shown
- +111%
- Time
- 19 Days
And that last point matters.
A friend who was with me when the alert triggered bought a small number of shares and participated in part of the move. I didn’t.
I’m showing you this because RAV80 isn’t about creating a highlight reel of winning trades after they happen. What matters to me is whether the process can help identify potential opportunities before the expansion occurs.
I often say: you don’t miss the stock market train. There will always be another opportunity. The goal is to develop a process capable of helping us recognize when the next one may be approaching.
Finding the Setup Is Only the First Step.
Earlier this week, MicroStrategy (MSTR) appeared on one of my higher-timeframe scanners.
But appearing on a scanner doesn’t mean I immediately enter a trade.
The scanner identifies the opportunity. The next step is waiting for price to give me an entry.
I waited several days.
On September 2 at approximately 12:46 PM, I entered the September 18 $140 calls at $2.15 per contract, or $215 each.
The following day, MSTR began expanding. A move of approximately 16% in the underlying stock created a dramatically larger move in the options.
At 2:28 PM on September 3, I exited at $8.80 per contract, or $880 each.
I didn’t catch the top.
The contracts continued appreciating after I exited—and that’s perfectly fine.
You don’t need to capture every dollar of a move. I had reached a level of profit I was comfortable taking, so I took it.
Two Opportunities. Two Different Expressions.
AAOI demonstrated what can happen when the system identifies a longer-term opportunity in the underlying shares.
MSTR demonstrates how options can provide a different way to express an idea.
Options carry substantially greater risk—including the possibility of losing the entire premium—but they can also magnify movements in the underlying stock.
The objective isn’t to chase a 309% return.
It’s to identify the conditions, wait for the opportunity, understand the risk and then decide how—or whether—you want to participate.
Built for People Who Can’t Watch a Screen All Day.
Returning to the corporate world doesn’t change RAV80. In many ways, it reinforces why I built it.
Most people don’t have the luxury of watching charts all day. They have careers, businesses, families and responsibilities—but they still want to understand the market and recognize meaningful opportunities.
I’m one of those people again.
That’s why I’ve spent so much time building systems that help narrow thousands of stocks into a much smaller universe worth paying attention to.
Follow Along With Me for the Next Month.
Beginning in mid-September, I’m opening up the RAV80 process at no cost for one month.
No complicated ecosystem. No need to check five different platforms.
Here’s what to expect:
Private WhatsApp
This will be the main line of communication. I’ll share what I’m seeing across short-, medium- and longer-term opportunities, scanner observations, charts and important market developments. When I publish something elsewhere, you’ll hear about it here.
Sunday Market Review
A live evening session to step back, review what’s happening in the market, discuss stocks approaching interesting conditions and prepare for the week ahead.
RAV80 Newsletter
Educational notes like this one—market concepts, case studies, lessons from completed trades and occasional longer-term holdings discussions.
YouTube
When a setup, lesson or trade review is better explained visually, I’ll record it and send the link through WhatsApp.
That’s it.
For the first month, I simply want you to experience how I approach the market.
Follow along. Ask questions. Learn the system. Watch what happens when the scanners identify something.
Then decide for yourself whether it adds value to the way you invest or trade.
